What is Code the Change YYC? π»
- Code The Change YYC is a student-led initiative where students in technology-focused programs volunteer their time to work on projects for social change. Code the Change allows a way for students to strengthen their skills, gain experience, attain mentorship, and give back to the community through software-based means.
What is a hackathon? π€
- A hackathon is a coding event that allows teams of students to showcase their innovation and creativity through software. The students work together in their group to code a solution to a given issue within a 24 hour period.
Who can participate? π±
- Anyone π If youβre interested in software development and open to team collaboration, a hackathon is a great event to participate in!
How are the winners selected? ποΈ
- After coding a solution to the given issue, each team will be given a chance to present their code to a group of judges who will be judging based off of a judging rubric you can find here!
How many people can be in a team? π₯
Is there a cost to participating? π€
- There is no cost associated with participating! This event is completely free for all participants!
How long is the hackathon? π
- Our Hackathon will be held for 24 hours, spanning from November 19th to November 20th. The event will start at 9am on Saturday, and end around 6pm on Sunday.
